Cavalry shield in use during the XIIth century, evolved from the almond-shape type of the XIth century. It has a triangular shape with a convex profile and a straight top edge. The large size permitted the mounted warrior to protect himself efficaciously from the enemy lances. Made in wood with a white linen covering that allows to paint it freely. Provided with handgrip and leather belts to carry it on shoulder.
