Claymore (from the Gaelic "Claidheamoh-mor") means large sword and is referred to the great sword with cross-hilt used in the Scottish Highlands from the end of the XVth century to the beginning of the XVIIth century. The double-edged blade has a romboidal section because without fuller and is mounted in the hilt, this last protruding over the upper part of the blade itself. Down-sweeping metal quillons, ending in a pierced quatrefoil. Tubular section-shaped hilt wrapped in black leather and spherical pommel.
