Gothic sallet with Mask, Gr. M, 1.6mm steel
Replica of a Gothic sallet from around 1495. The original is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York and was made by the German armorer Lorenz Helmschmied, court armorer of Emperor Maximilian I.
The special feature of this sallet is that the neck mount is firmly connected (riveted) to the helmet.
Both the gorget and the visor are foldable and lockable with locks.
The helmet has no integrated ticking. However, a separate padded hood is included with every helmet.
If necessary, we recommend the attachment of custom-fit padding.
On the inside, in front of the viewing slit, there is a wire mesh mesh, which can be easily removed, e.g. with side cutters, if you don't like it.
