This Viking sword, which has the typical appearance of a Type D Viking sword (according to Jan Petersen's 1919 classification De Norsk Vikingesverd), is a replica of a find that came from the Scottish island of Eigg.
This Viking sword has a blunt, double-edged carbon steel blade with a wide fuller. The finely crafted handle, the parrying element and the pommel are made of bronze, which was cast in the shape typical of this sword.
The scabbard is made of leather-wrapped wood. The chape and locket as well as the bracket, which acts as a belt loop, are also made of bronze and richly decorated.
