Reproduction of a spiked mace in use in Europe during the Middle Age. Blunt weapon carried hanged by the saddle and used in the melee fights when lance and sword had no more space to be wielded. Its manufacturing characteristics date it back to the XIVth or XVth century. It has a wooden grip, whose upper edge is wrapped in leather to which is fixed an iron shaft surmounted by an iron sphere filled with conical spikes. A little chain in burnished metal allows to fasten the weapon at the wrist during the fight.
