Three-headed flail used by warriors mounted on horseback, mainly in central Europe between the XIIth and XVth century. Blunt weapon with a high impact power that made it useful during the melees when there was no more space left to wield lance or sword. Handle in hardwood with the grip wrapped with a leather string. A leather fringed cuff crowns the upper tip of the handle where are fixed also three metal chains linked to the same number of iron spheres filled with conical spikes. The pommel is equipped with a light metal chain that allows the fastening of the flail to the wrist during the fight.
