Roman Helmet - Praetorian Helmet
Roman Helmet, Praetorian Guard Helmet, this helmet is made of brass and is truly a centre-piece because of its rich ornamentation.

The Praetorian Guard (Praetoriani) was a force of bodyguards by Roman Emperors.
The title was already used during the Roman Republic for the guards of Roman generals. The Praetorian Guard (Latin: Praetoriani) was a force of bodyguards used by Roman Emperors. The title was already used during the Roman Republic for the guards of Roman generals, at least since the rise to prominence of the Scipio family around 275 BC. The Guard was dissolved by Emperor Constantine I in the 4th century. They were distinct from both the Imperial Germanic bodyguard that provided close personal protection for the late Roman emperors, and the personal Iberian bodyguards of Scipio Africanus and Augustus.
Unfortunately there are no original helmet findings.
This version is modeled on one of many traditional drawings of Roman stone reliefs.

It has got two cheek guards from brass, a red plume made of horsehair and an adjustable
liner from leather.
