Roman gladiators were destined to fight brutal hand-to-hand battles in the arenas of the Roman Empire. For this reason, one of their preferred weapons was a short sword or dagger, ideally suited for thrusting attacks.

This gladiator dagger is a beautiful replica of a weapon discovered during the excavations at Pompeii. The city of Pompeii was almost completely destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD and buried beneath a layer of volcanic ash between 4 and 6 meters thick. Today, it is considered a true paradise for archaeologists.

The hilt is meticulously handcrafted from natural bone with exceptional attention to detail, while the blade is forged from high-carbon steel. The blade is unsharpened, making this dagger ideal for collectors as well as for historical reenactments and stage combat.

No scabbard is available, as gladiators traditionally carried their weapons directly into the arena without one.

Since the handle is made from genuine natural animal bone, small cracks or variations in the material may occur. These are completely normal characteristics that enhance the authenticity, uniqueness, and natural appearance of each piece without affecting its quality or durability.
