Haubergeon, flat ring, round rivet heads
FRM chainmail, riveted, flat ring round rivet heads, ID 8 mm
- Suitable for reenactment combat -
Haubergeon means that it is a half- or short-sleeved chainmail shirt that reaches just to the thigh.
The FRM weave: This is a European flat-ring chainmail weave, which was produced and used in various forms and with different ring diameters from antiquity to the late Middle Ages. It consists exclusively of flat chainmail rings. Rings and punched rings are alternately connected in a 4-in-1 weave pattern. This weave was and is less labor-intensive than fully riveted weaves, as only every other ring is riveted. The riveted rings are fastened with round rivets, which form a round, hemispherical rivet head. We abbreviate this authentic weave FRM, from the English abbreviation (Flatring Round Rivets Mixed).
Available in three sizes (M, L, and XL).
The dimensions of each size are measured when fully stretched.
