Witch-king of Angmar Helmet

The Witch-king is killed in the Battle of the Pelennor Fields by Éowyn, Princess of Rohan, and the hobbit Meriadoc after a stab wound to the Achilles tendon. Thus, the prophecy of the elf Glorfindel is fulfilled: he will die by no man's hand.

The Nazgûl (from nazg "ring" and gûl "spirit" in the Black Speech of Mordor; hence also called Ringwraiths) were kings of Men who wore the Nine Rings of Power, which Sauron gave them. This made them virtually immortal, but they gradually succumbed to the power of the One Ring and became spirits and slaves of Sauron. The Elves call them Úlairi (Quenya). They are also known as the Black Riders or the Nine. The Ringwraiths' weapon is primarily the paralyzing terror their mere presence inspires. When in contact with the living, they wear black hooded cloaks and black boots to conceal their invisibility. They also wield enchanted blades, such as the Morgul-knife with which the Witch-king wounded Frodo on Weathertop. Sunlight can weaken them. Conventional weapons ricochet off them, but certain blades of Elven and Númenórean origin can injure or kill them.
