Medieval Bascinet Helmet – Handmade in Italy
Medieval Bascinet Helmet – Handmade in Italy
The medieval bascinet is one of the most iconic helmets of the second half of the 14th century. Widespread throughout Europe during the Hundred Years' War, it was primarily adopted by heavy cavalry and knights due to its excellent combination of protection, visibility, and freedom of movement. An evolution of the 13th-century large helmet, the bascinet quickly became the standard for medieval combat.
This is a faithful historical reconstruction of a medieval bascinet, inspired by models used between the late 14th and early 15th centuries. Each helmet is entirely handmade in Italy by expert armorers, according to the ancient tradition of Italian armor art, passed down from generation to generation.
Forged from high-quality carbon steel, this helmet is designed to be fully wearable and is ideal for historical reenactment, medieval combat, HMB, Buhurt, LARP, theater performances, film, and collecting.
To ensure maximum comfort during use, the helmet features a handcrafted, adjustable leather inner liner and a leather chin strap with a steel buckle, ensuring a stable and secure fit.
Each piece is made to order and is completely customizable: you can choose the size, steel thickness, and finish, and request any modifications to adapt it to your needs, both aesthetically and functionally.
