Pappenheimer sword (XVIIth century)

European side sword properly called "in the Walloon style" but best known with the name of the count of Pappenheim, commander of the imperial cavalry during the Thirty Years war (1618-1648) that favoured its spreading. Broad two-edged and pointed blade made in steel. Framed hilt with shell in cast metal, fuse-shape pommel and grip wrapped by golden metal strings. Provided with a sheath covered in black leather with polished metal bands.

Overall lenght 104 cms.
