Roman helmet - Coolus 'D'
Coolus 'D' (Haltern), Roman helmet, brass
First class reconstruction of a typical Coolus helmet found in the former Roman camp near Haltern am See (Germany). There was one of the most important Roman military complexes in Germania on the right bank of the Rhine 2000 years ago. It was home to one of the most famous legions: the 19th Legion, which was completely destroyed in the Varus Battle in 9 AD.
The original of this helmet is thus also dated to the first century AD and can be seen today in the Roman Museum in Haltern.
The helmet comes with a cotton underhood.
