Turin Mauritius Sword with Scabbard SK-B

Turin Mauritius Sword with Scabbard SK-B

Turin Mauritius Sword with Scabbard, 13th Century, Reenactment Sword, SK-B

Mauritius (St. Maurice) is said to have been the leader of the Theban Legion and was venerated from the 4th century onward as the patron saint of the army and of sword and knife makers.

The sword, which is kept and venerated in Turin along with some of his relics, is said to be the sword that beheaded Saint Maurice. However, since the sword was forged in the 13th century—nearly 1,000 years after this event—this is highly unlikely.

This replica has a blade made of hardened EN45 spring steel. The edges are not sharpened, and the tip is rounded. The blade features a pronounced fuller, which gives the sword great flexibility and lightness. The curved crossguard and the Brazil nut-shaped pommel are made of steel. The grip is wrapped with dark natural leather

The high-quality scabbard is made of wood wrapped in leather and equipped with practical brass carrying rings.
