Spangenhelm Helmet

Viking helmet with a longitudinal crest, inspired by models developed by Scandinavian peoples and made famous in Western Europe during the Early Middle Ages by Viking raids.

Belonging to the type of conical helmet with a nasal guard, which emerged in the 8th century, it represents one of the most iconic models of medieval armament, also used by heavy cavalry. The nose guard structure effectively protects the face, while the steel cheekpieces recall solutions already known in ancient tradition.

This helmet is entirely handcrafted from high-quality carbon steel by Italian craftsmen, according to an ancient tradition passed down since the Middle Ages.

Each piece is forged with great care, ensuring solidity, historical authenticity, and an excellent aesthetic. Italian craftsmanship ensures extremely high standards in steelwork and finishing, offering a functional and durable product.

Fully wearable, it is ideal for both re-enactment combat and medieval historical reconstruction shows and parades. The interior features an adjustable, padded leather liner for maximum comfort, with a leather chin strap and brass buckle for a secure and stable closure.

Customizable in size (S, M, L, XL based on head circumference) and material thickness (1 mm, 1.2 mm, 1.5 mm, 2 mm / 16–14 ga), it is available with a polished or burnished (lightly oiled) finish. Upon request, it can also be made in stainless steel at an additional cost.
