Viking Sword Torshov SK-B

Viking Sword Torshov, 9th-10th Century, Reenactment Sword, SK-B

Our reenactment-ready replica of this Viking sword is based on a find at Torshov (Gjerdrum) in southern Norway. The hilt is classified as Type H, which was used from approximately 800-950 AD and must have been very popular, as numerous finds attest to the widespread use of this sword hilt type.

This sword is entirely handcrafted. The straight, short crossguard and the typical pommel with a triangular crown are made of heat-treated, malleable cast iron. The blade extends through the hilt to the pommel and is hand-riveted there. The grip is wrapped with leather. The blade is forged from high-quality spring steel and hardened to approximately 48-50 HRC. It features a pronounced fuller, which gives the sword great flexibility and lightness. The blade tip and edges are blunt and rounded.

The sword comes with a beautiful wood and leather scabbard with a wooden belt loop (for belts up to 5 cm wide).
