This beautiful Roman helmet is the ideal choice for anyone looking for a high-quality, authentic, and artfully crafted helmet. Carefully handcrafted, this helmet offers excellent value for money and is perfect for completing a Roman suit of armor.
This helmet is modeled after a Roman cavalry helmet found in Xanten, the ancient Colonia Ulpia Traiana on the Lower Rhine, Germany. Xanten was an important Roman military base on the Rhine frontier. As a helmet of the Roman cavalry, it is distinguished by its characteristic design and elaborate decorations, which clearly differentiate it from the more utilitarian helmets of the Roman infantry. The historical original is dated to approximately the 1st century AD.
This faithful reconstruction of the historical original is made of 1.2 mm thick steel. The intricately crafted structure of the helmet's crown, reminiscent of human hair, is particularly impressive. This motif continues on the cheek pieces, which are decorated with gold-colored curls. An elaborately crafted ear completes the detailed design.
A gold-colored decorative ring encircles the helmet and culminates on the front in an intricately designed, gold-colored medallion. This helmet depicts a Roman legionary surrounded by various Roman armor elements. A floral, gold-colored ornament on the neck guard stylishly completes the elaborate design. Inside, the helmet features an adjustable leather liner for a customized fit. The cheek pieces are also equipped with two thin leather straps for secure fastening.
This helmet is fully wearable and ideal for reenactment, LARP, stage productions, or TV/film. It is perfectly suited to Roman settings and is ideal for completing a Roman's armor. Of course, this Roman helmet is also a superb addition to any helmet collector's collection.
