The Roman Military Cingulum was a leather belt, covered with decorative metal plates and often fitted with brackets or hangers for the soldier's dagger. This war belt was not only used to support the warrior's braccae (trousers) during battle, it was also a symbol of military rank or honor.

The crawler often included a leather apron, consisting of several flat and narrow bands (called pterygi or pteruges), which hung from the belt and were decorated with continuous rows of riveted metal fittings. Each band ended with metal labels (pensilia).

The cingulum or balteus of the Roman legionary, richly decorated with tinned brass fittings, is a replica of an original artifact dated to the second half of the 1st century AD. and is now in the Central Romano-Germanic Museum in Mainz (RGZM). . The hinged buckle, riveted plaques and medallions, movable brackets and Pugio pendants are all based on historical artifacts from the Mainz region.

The abdominal belt is made of sturdy 3mm thick leather and is also lined on the inside with suede to protect the wearer's tunic from the rivets that hold the decorative plates. The strap is precut and adjustable for a variety of sizes. A leather cord is included to tie and attach a dagger to the button-shaped Pugio pendant lamp.

The striped apron is made of 2mm thick leather (unlined). Each leather strip has an integrated buckle and can therefore be slipped into the belt or removed at will.
