The Houndskull Bascinet is a variation of the late medieval bascinet. Until around 1420, it was one of the preferred helmet styles among noble knights and professional warriors. The distinctive shape of its pointed visor gave the helmet its name, Houndskull, and contributed to its widespread use throughout Central Europe.

Our reproduction is based on an original helmet crafted in Milan around 1390 AD, now forming part of the famous Churburg Armoury Collection in South Tyrol.

This helmet is handcrafted from 2 mm thick steel, carefully shaped, riveted, and welded to ensure exceptional strength and durability. Thanks to its robust construction, it provides excellent protection for historical reenactment combat.

The helmet features a fully functional hinged visor that can be raised when needed. The visor can also be completely removed by extracting the locking pins attached to the retaining chains.

For maximum comfort, the interior is fitted with a high-quality padded fabric liner.

The brass rivets mounted on the sides of the helmet are designed for attaching a mail aventail, providing additional protection for the neck, shoulders, and upper chest.

This helmet is available in sizes S, M, and L.
