Late Roman helmet from Berkasovo

Following the usual helmet shape of the late imperial period, the find from Berkasovo (today Serbia) differs in its extremely rich decoration with precious stones, as well as gold and silver applications.
The many elements explain its heavy weight: more than 4 kg.
The rich decorations indicate a wearer of the highest officer rank at the time.
Our helmet has a stitched red leather inlay and the ornaments are made of glass.
