The Burgonet helm(also called burgonet) developed from the sallet at the beginning of the 16th century. Another name is also Burgundian sallet. The helm experienced particular obesity first among infantrymen such. B. Lansknecht pikemen, but later also in the light cavalry and thus became the most commonly worn type of helmet in Europe in the 16th and 17th centuries.
Our reconstruction has the typical, pronounced helmet crest. The cheekpieces are moveable and can even be removed thanks to the pull-out split pins. The helmet comes with gorgets: an authentic closed but foldable version and a rigid SCA-ready version with a grid. Of course, it can also be worn without a gorget if a larger field of vision is required.
The Burgonet helm has a comfortable leather inlay along with a chin strap.
