Dog's-Head Bascinet, circa 1390, 1.6 mm steel

The dog's-head bascinet is a variant of the late medieval bascinet. Until around 1420, it was the preferred helmet of knights and warriors. The distinctive shape of its visor gave it the name "dog's head" and contributed to its widespread use in Central Europe.

Our helmet is based on a Milanese helmet from circa 1390, made of finely crafted and riveted armor steel and decorated with brass fittings.

This helmet features a removable and movable visor, a comfortable leather lining, and a chin strap.
