Kettle Hat – Medieval Helmet

The "Chapel de Fer"—also known as a "Kettle Hat"—is one of the most iconic and widespread medieval helmets used between the 10th and 14th centuries. Worn by infantry, urban militias, and cavalry alike, it provided excellent protection against downward blows, making it particularly effective during sieges and open-field combat.

This historically accurate reproduction is entirely handmade in Italy by master armorers who have preserved the traditional craft of Italian armory for generations. Each helmet is individually forged and finished with the utmost care, ensuring a robust, functional, and unique piece.

The helmet is fully wearable and can be customized in terms of both size and steel thickness, making it ideal for historical reenactment, HEMA, LARP, collectors, and exhibitions. The interior is fitted with an adjustable leather suspension liner, designed to provide excellent comfort and optimal stability. It also features a leather chin strap with a brass buckle, ensuring a secure and convenient fit.
