Molay dagger, Templar dagger with scabbard
This beautiful reconstruction of a 13th-century Knights Templar dagger was named after Jacques de Molay (1240/1250 - 1314), the last Grand Master of the Order of the Templars (Poor Knighthood of Christ and the Temple of Solomon in Jerusalem).
The Molay dagger has a blade made of hardened, heat-treated EN45 spring steel with a fuller, unsharpened edges and a sharp point. The continuous blade tang is screwed to the end of the handle. The black leather-wrapped wooden handle ends with a strong, stable steel disc pommel, which is decorated on both sides with a Templar cross. The artistically turned steel crossguard is 12 cm long and 0.5 cm thick. It is widened on both sides towards the end and decorated with cut-out crosses.
The high medieval crusader dagger is delivered together with a black wood/leather scabbard with mouth strap, chape and movable steel carrying rings. The cross motif with trefoil/trefoil-shaped ends, which adorns the openwork guard and pommel, is repeated on the front of the scabbard locket.
It is pointed out that this medieval dagger is not suitable for battle. It is designed as a collector's item or decorative object and is also ideal as a prop, e.g. to complete your costume.
