The Viking sword, or Carolingian sword, was a type of sword used in Western and Northern Europe during the early Middle Ages. The “Viking sword” developed from the Roman spatha and was used by the Franks during the Carolingian era (751–911).

This sword is exclusively handcrafted. The guard and the helmet-shaped pommel are made of heat-treated malleable cast iron. The blade is hand-riveted to the pommel. The grip is wrapped in leather.

The spring steel blade is oil-hardened to approx. 48 Rockwell, giving it a distinctive sound and offering both high flexibility and reduced weight. The blade edges are blunt, and the tip is rounded for safety.

The beautiful wooden scabbard is leather-covered and features a wooden belt loop (max width 5 cm) as well as a richly decorated brass chape.
