A pellet crossbow designed for throwing small stones. It is a scaled-down version of the larger pellet crossbow used for hunting in the 16th century, primarily for the use of ladies of the court.
The bowstring is made of hard, local wood, finely shaped and embellished with gilded metal decorations. The two strings, made of braided hemp threads, are held in place by wooden spacers and attached to the ends of the steel bow, which is covered with leather trim.
The pellet housing is a small leather pocket located in the center of the strings.
