Design and Construction

The helmet is made from sturdy 1.6 mm steel and features an antique finish, designed to give the surface a distinctive aged and weathered appearance.

The rounded helmet bowl and structural elements, including the frontal band, central band, and the band running from ear to ear, are assembled using sturdy steel rivets. The face protection completes the design, giving the helmet its imposing and distinctive appearance.

The adjustable leather inserts inside allow the helmet to be adapted to the wearer's individual size, helping provide a more comfortable fit. The sturdy leather chin strap, fitted with a brass buckle, helps keep the helmet securely in place during use.

Historical Inspiration

Spangenhelms, or helmets constructed using a framework of metal bands, represent a type of construction that was widely used throughout Early Medieval Europe. Among the most important finds associated with the Nordic helmet tradition is the famous Gjermundbu helmet, dating to the 10th century.

However, this model is not an exact archaeological reproduction of a specific historical artifact, but rather a modern interpretation of Early Medieval helmets, inspired by Scandinavian traditions, the Vendel Period, and the Viking Age.

A striking accessory, perfect for completing the equipment of a Nordic warrior and adding character to any Viking or medieval setting.

Important Notes

The specifications and measurements provided may vary slightly from one piece to another, as these products are handcrafted.

The steel used is not stainless steel and may develop minor signs of oxidation or corrosion over time. To preserve the product properly, regular maintenance with a protective oil suitable for steel, such as Ballistol or an equivalent product, is recommended.

Add to your collection a helmet with an authentic character, inspired by the warrior traditions of Northern Europe.
