Medieval Kettle Hat with Band
Medieval Kettle Hat with Band (14th Century)
A sturdy reproduction of a medieval Kettle Hat. The Kettle Hat was one of the most widely used helmets during the Middle Ages, particularly throughout the 13th and 14th centuries in Central and Northern Europe. It provided full protection for the skull, while its wide brim offered excellent defense against downward strikes. Unlike enclosed great helms, the Kettle Hat did not restrict vision or breathing, making it a popular choice for mounted warriors as well.
This medieval Kettle Hat is handcrafted from carbon steel and is fully wearable. Available steel thicknesses: 1.2 mm, 1.5 mm, or 2 mm.
For maximum comfort, the helmet is equipped with a padded leather liner and an adjustable leather chin strap with a steel buckle.
This style of medieval Kettle Hat is ideal for historical combat, reenactments, and medieval parades or festivals.
Upon request, the helmet can also be made in stainless steel for an additional charge.
