Calatrava Cross Tile

The Calatrava Cross is a symbol used by the Order of Calatrava and the Order of Montesa (the latter in black), as well as by the Dominican Order.

It consists of a Greek cross (formerly a Latin cross) with four equal red arms and adorned with a fleur-de-lis at its ends.

This cross appears on many coats of arms and flags of towns in the Campo de Calatrava region.

In the Order of Calatrava, it was black until the 15th century, when it became red.

The appearance is that of a genuine handmade terracotta tile.
