US cavalry saber, brown
Prussian Officer's Saber with Steel Scabbard
A beautiful, affordable replica of a saber used by officers of the Prussian light cavalry in the 19th century – also known as a lion's head saber due to its distinctive pommel shape.
The slightly curved, unsharpened blade is hand-forged from high-quality carbon steel. The blunt edge is approximately 1 mm thick, and the full tang is screwed to the end of the grip.
The hilt consists of a grip section with a pommel cap and a guard connected to the crossguard. The pommel is shaped like a lion's head. The simple, open stirrup emerges from the lion's mouth and flows into the straight crossguard, which terminates in a teardrop shape. The grip, with its wooden core, is wrapped in leather and brass wire. The stirrup, the lion's head pommel, and the crossguard are all made of brass.
The cavalry saber comes complete with a matching steel scabbard featuring two bands and movable carrying rings.
This Prussian saber with a lion's head pommel is not suitable for combat but is a highly decorative collector's item, ideally suited as a prop, for example, for the theater.
